get up and try again

Sometimes you have to lose your way
before you notice the road.
Sometimes the weight becomes so heavy
you finally ask,
“What am I carrying this for?”

Sometimes you have to reach the bottom,
not because the bottom is your home,
but because from there
you can finally see
how far the sky goes.

The lowest of lows
has a strange way of opening your eyes.

When nothing is left to protect,
you begin to question
what was worth protecting.

When the money is gone,
the applause disappears,
the people walk away,
and the plans fall apart,
you discover something uncomfortable:

You are still here.

Breathing.

Thinking.

Choosing.

Beginning.

And suddenly,
the life you thought you had lost
looks different.

There is still a morning
you have not lived.

A conversation
you have not had.

A door
you have not opened.

A person
you have not become.

There are places
you have never seen,
lessons you have never learned,
dreams you buried too early,
and possibilities
you were too exhausted to imagine.

Maybe rock bottom
was never the end of your story.

Maybe it was the place
where the noise finally became quiet enough
for you to hear:

There is more.

More life.

More growth.

More love.

More courage.

More becoming.

More chances
to get up and try again.

You do not have to romanticize the pain.
You do not have to pretend
the suffering was beautiful.

Sometimes it was simply painful.

But pain can reveal
what comfort kept hidden.

And the lowest of lows
can teach you something
the highest of highs sometimes cannot:

Life is bigger
than the moment you are suffering through.

So if you are standing
at the bottom today,
look around.

Do not mistake the lowest place
you have ever reached
for the furthest place
you can ever go.

The bottom is a place.

Not a destiny.

Get up.

There is more life waiting for you.
