many chase the minutes they have lost
Time is not conquered by sharper plans,
Nor mastered by disciplined hands.
Its truest steward first kneels low,
Where living waters gently flow.
Many chase the minutes they have lost,
Counting victories, counting cost.
Yet hours slip through restless hands
When life is built on shifting sands.
The morning does not start with haste;
It starts where mercy can be traced.
Before the calendar makes its claim,
The heart remembers Jesus' name.
For every hour belongs to Him,
The brightest dawn, the evening dim.
The seconds beating in my chest
Are borrowed gifts, not mine to possess.
When Christ becomes my first pursuit,
Discipline bears eternal fruit.
Not driven by the fear to fail,
But anchored where His mercies prevail.
He teaches when to labor hard,
When silence is the wiser guard.
When doors should close, when paths should wait,
When faith, not hurry, shapes my fate.
Time management is more than skill,
More than strength or iron will.
It is learning, day by day,
To walk with Christ along His way.
For those who know the Shepherd's voice
Do not let endless noise rejoice.
They spend their moments with great care,
Because they know that Christ is there.
The busiest soul may still be poor
If Jesus waits outside the door.
The quiet servant, hidden, small,
May use time best by giving all.
So let my schedule be a prayer.
Let every meeting find You there.
Let every deadline, task, and plan
Begin where true obedience began.
For time is not my greatest treasure;
Christ alone is Heaven's measure.
And every moment, wisely spent,
Is one surrendered, not merely bent.
Teach me, Lord, to seek Your face
Before I ever start the race.
Then every hour will testify:
A life with Christ is time lived wisely.
