diamonds for pennies

They taught us to be grateful for crumbs,
To smile while begging for bread,
To call survival “purpose,”
And hunger, “humility” instead.

We bowed to scarcity,
Believing there was never enough.
So we priced ourselves in fear,
And called that wisdom, tough.

But the truth is not in shortage,
It is in how we see our worth.
We trade diamonds for pennies,
Then wonder why we hurt.

Until we uproot that thinking,
That smallness dressed as grace,
We will keep shaking hands with lack,
While value hides its face.

The moment we believe abundance
Is not greed, but rightful claim,
We align with compensation
That finally knows our name.
