Guard The Parts They Broke
You gave them all, your heart, your light,
Believed in love with all your might.
Built castles out of words they said,
Fed hope where fear had once been fed.
You stayed through storms, through silent cries,
You saw the truth but closed your eyes.
For love, you bled with open hands,
Till silence grew where trust once stands.
But love, you learned, is not a vow
To lose yourself and not know how.
It is not a cage, or chain, or plea,
Love should not cost your dignity.
So now you guard the parts they broke,
Speak softer truths, and laugh through smoke.
You have learned the price of loving blind,
A soul once burned grows sharp, refined.
They were your teacher, pain your pen,
You will never love like that again.
Not out of hate or bitter flame,
But to protect the love you reclaim.

P.S. Some lessons scar the heart, and others crack the smile we show the world.
Healing takes time, and a little kindness to yourself along the way.
If you could use one small reminder of gentleness, I offer Aloe Lips with Jojoba, a balm for the lips, and maybe a little for the soul too.
