do the thing anyway

They will whisper when you are silent,
They will scoff when you speak,
They will mock when you are daring,
They will laugh when you are weak.

They will say you are too quiet,
Then claim you talk too loud,
They will doubt your every triumph,
Then cheer you in a crowd.

So do not wait for silence,
Or nods that all agree,
Approval is a shifting wind
That bends too easily.

Just take the step, be bold, begin,
Let courage lead the way.
Their judgment is not chains, my friend,
Do not let it make you stay.

The world will always chatter,
With praise or with dismay,
But truth belongs to those who dare
To do the thing anyway.

P.S. The world will always talk, but your strength is yours alone.

Some days, courage feels small, like choosing to care for yourself when no one else will.

If you need a simple reminder of that, I offer Aloe Lips with Jojoba, a gentle relief for lips weathered by life’s noise.
