In My Own Time
I walk the path that’s mine alone,
No rush, no race, no borrowed pace.
Each step, a rhythm all my own,
A steady dance, a quiet grace.
The world may spin in hurried stride,
But I am not its frantic twin.
I move with purpose deep inside,
Where peace and patience truly win.
The mirror shows my only guide,
A face that knows both loss and gain.
No other life I need to bide,
For here I learn, from joy and pain.
In my own time, I rise and fall,
No need to match another’s way.
I am my own, I heed the call,
Of heart and soul, and there I stay.
Each day, a chance to grow and see,
The person that I’m meant to be.
