Muthoni

In shadows deep, Muthoni roamed,
A lady fair, her heart a home,
Yet whispers echoed, temptations sown,
A single compromise, her spirit prone.

At dawn's first light, she stood tall,
But darkness crept, to cast its pall,
In silent whispers, it beckoned near,
The allure of compromise, whispered in her ear.

With hesitant steps, she trod the line,
Between virtue's path and darker signs,
Yet with each concession, a piece she gave,
The rot of principle, began its grave.

Her conscience pricked, a subtle sting,
As compromise crept in, on silent wing,
For every choice, a price to pay,
As Muthoni realized, in dismay.

Through trials faced and battles won,
She saw the truth, under the sun,
That compromise, a slippery slope,
Where principle falters, and dreams elope.

So Muthoni rose, with strength anew,
To reclaim the principles she knew,
For in her heart, the truth did thrive,
That from a single compromise, we must strive.
