Behind the Smile: The Tale of Nkarichia

In the heart of a town, where sorrow did dwell,
Lived a man named Nkarichia, his tale I will tell.
With a smile so bright, he'd light up the day,
But inside, he carried a darkness, a shadow at bay.

For Nkarichia knew, as we often do too,
That faking a smile is the easiest to do.
It's a mask we put on, to hide our despair,
To shield the world from the burdens we bear.

He'd walk down the streets, with a grin on his face,
Yet, beneath it, a sadness, a hidden embrace.
He'd dance through the night, his laughter so free,
But only he knew the tears in his plea.

For explaining his sadness, he feared the invite,
To open his heart, to reveal all his plight.
He'd ponder in silence, in the depths of his mind,
The words left unspoken, the secrets confined.

But in moments alone, when the night skies grew dark,
Nkarichia would let his true feelings embark.
He'd weep and he'd ache, and his tears would then flow,
As he battled the demons he didn't want to show.

In this world full of faces, both jovial and sad,
Nkarichia learned a truth that wasn't so bad.
That sometimes, in life, we must wear a disguise,
For faking a smile is the easiest guise.

But let us remember, as we walk our own way,
That beneath every smile, there may be dismay.
So be kind to each other, with empathy's grace,
For we all have our battles, our own hidden space.
