Masumbuko

Darkness bows down to light --- no matter how small the light is --- and lighting a cigarette behind enemy lines can change your fate real quick. The sniper has been waiting patiently to make a kill before the night flows into daylight, but his conscience is playing mind games on him.

It's 3:00 in the morning. Daylight is approaching really fast, and along with it comes a spark of light 1025 yards (0.94 kilometers) from the sniper's classified position.

"It is time to re-affirm that smoking does kill," Masumbuko mutters under his breath before pulling the trigger.

The bullet was so attached to the sniper rifle; it defied the intimacy between Romeo and Juliet. If a professional reviewer was doing a comparison between the two, the latter would get a rating of 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. So, what rating does the bullet and the Accuracy International L115A3 get? It's 10, and that rating is rock solid. The bullet was always resting in the rifle's heart. It had no plans of tearing it apart.

By the way, rumor has it that once upon a time, Romeo told Juliet "You tore my heart apart, and I'm going to tear yours. The only difference is I'm going to use a blade!" Anyway, that's a story for another day.

Back to our lovebirds: The bullet and the Accuracy International L115A3. If Westlife [Irish pop vocal group] were given a chance to look at the nature of the mission, they would undoubtedly agree that this love was breakable. The mission comes first, and the bullet was the final piece that ensured all enemies were eliminated without fail.

Masumbuko had been a sniper for over 12 years. He had a proven track record of never missing his targets. As usual, he had put so much faith in the bullet to deliver --- it did! The cigarette smoker was a dead man.

The mission was successful, but Masumbuko never considered himself to be a successful man. He knew very well that the system is corrupted. He was no longer ordered to hunt the bad guys. Orders had evolved into hunting enemies, and 96% of those targets were good guys.

The mission was to eliminate the enemy. Masumbuko was expected at all times to follow orders and never ask questions. Unfortunately, those who are considered enemies from the good guys outweighed those who are considered enemies from the bad guys. His conscious really condemned him for killing a lot of good guys just for the sake of following orders.

Masumbuko thought that fighting against the system was a death trap, but so were all of his missions. There is no difference. Therefore, he vowed to find the root cause as to why he did nothing about it.
