Bwire

Consequences forced Chombo to be overwhelmed with regrets. He was never proud of the actions he took in the past.

Chombo wanted lots of money by doing the same things: Spending time reading the Holy Bible, participating in the Holy Catholic Mass, reciting positive affirmations, visualizing the amount of money he wanted, and listening to motivational audio books. Ironically, he still struggled financially no matter how hard he tried to do the same five things religiously.

"The future fails to happen because we do not visualize it," his best friend, Bwire, always reminded him whenever she felt like Chombo was about to give up. "And just because I handle consequences differently doesn't mean I am not bothered by them."

Bwire suggested to her boss that they should hire Chombo. She strongly believed that working alongside Chombo would enable her to keep an eye on her best friend's minor lapses and offer him the friendly support he needed to make a decision to get better.

Unfortunately, Bwire's mum predicted that their working relationship would be shorter than the speech Winston Churchill gave when he visited the independent Harrow School for boys on 29th October 1941.

"Why are you making it worse mum?"

"I recently butchered a pig, but it seemed like your Chombo boy didn't want bacon."

"Jesus! Listen mum, just leave him alone."

If the International Labor Organization were to prepare a global list of individuals who had excellent work ethic, then Chombo would not even deserve to be at the bottom of that list.

Despite being best friends, both Bwire and Chombo seemed utterly different from each other. Bwire has a very strong work ethic; she can influence her boss to hire whomever she recommends. Bwire's strong work ethic earned her recommendations the right to never be questioned.

Chombo did not pass the interview, but he got the job anyway. The interview panel decided to overlook the mistakes he did. They gave Chombo another chance because Bwire insisted they should. His CV clearly showed that he jumped from job to job, but Bwire made sure she pointed the panel to focus on giving Chombo a chance to start over.

"A great future doesn't require a great past," she said as her best friend was being interviewed.

"Chombo needs a chance to start over, and as one of the top enterprises in this country, we have the power to give him that chance. If we reject him because of his past tendencies, then we will be denying him the chance to have a great future."

"When the CV shows that a person is jumping from job to job, then it means they have a very poor work ethic," her boss responded during the interview.

"But I can instruct the Human Resources to hire Chombo under one condition!"

"What is the condition boss?" Bwire asked politely.

"Since you have excellent work ethic, I want you to make a commitment that you'll mentor Chombo. I don't want my company to be another enterprise he disappoints, therefore, I need you to make sure he follows through with his improvement plan. Can I count on you to do that?"

"Consider it done boss!" Bwire replied.

"Brilliant! Write an official letter on the same and give it to the HR department for filling."
